Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Director of FP&A to deliver business insight and drive improvement of FP&A functions for National Flood Services (NFS).  This individual will report directly to NFS’s Managing Director of Finance.  Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to access, analyze and present financial data to help drive business decisions and to improve cross-business reporting and budgeting processes.  They will possess superior analytical, modeling and communication skills. 



  • Prepare and present monthly reporting packages for the senior management team that analyzes the financial results of NFS
  • Reviews monthly operating results to identify key trends, variances and areas of improved performance
  • Prepares annual budget and ongoing analysis of budget versus actual results; creates and maintains detailed budgeting reports
  • Analyzes data and prepares recommendations on new revenue opportunities and expense reduction initiatives to drive profitability
  • Develop and own cost allocation process across the business
  • Continuously improves financial management processes and analytical tools needed to deliver monthly reporting, budgeting and cash flow forecast results
  • Build and enhance client profitability models to drive client pricing decisions



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related degree
  • 7-10 years’ experience in accounting, finance or FP&A
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Adaptive experience preferred
  • Strong analytical ability and motivation to solve problems with high attention to detail
  • Ability to professionally collaborate with colleagues and management
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks within an established timeline
  • Must be a team player and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Graduation from a corporate financial management program or Big 4 accounting experience is a plus
