QA Leader - New Startup, PEAK6 Entity

Irvine, CA

We are looking for a technical, entrepreneurial-minded Quality Assurance leader to help us create solutions that modernize the traditional financial services industry. You will lead a team of software engineers in test that are working closely with the product engineering teams to define, develop, deploy and maintain a number of real-time event driven services that will be the foundation of the new platform. Working side-by-side with other leaders, experienced technologists and industry experts, you will build this exciting new platform that will simplify, automate and facilitate access to financial markets for all.

Due to the space we innovate in, your products will process billions of transactions per day, in real-time, and power both startup and established industry participants.

You will report to the Head of Platforms but work closely with everyone across the organization.

  • Adopt and adapt the frameworks and libraries that we use to build tests
  • Build and lead the team of SETs who execute on your testing strategy
  • Drive the organization to write self-documenting and well-tested code with an emphasis on sustainable development practices
  • Work as a part of small, productive development team that puts an emphasis on code quality, peer reviews and strong engineering practices

What you need to succeed

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other demanding engineering degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • At least 10 years of professional experience working as a part of a multi-person development team that utilizes automated testing, CI pipelines and peer reviews.  With a focus on quality assurance and test automation.

  • Demonstrated skills in quality assurance automation design, development and operations
  • Ability to learn new and unfamiliar technologies quickly, as required
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture
  • Experience with Kafka abig plus
  • A DevSecOpsmindset and experience with cloud-native applications and infrastructure-as-code is a plus
